Dr. Dwella Moton Nelson grew up in the small town of Edgefield, SC, but her life has taken her to so many places around globe.
Professionally, she is an Assistant Professor with numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications. She has a track record of hard work, perseverance, and self-directed creativity.
Personally, she is a wife, mom, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, and bestie who has always been a trend-setting DIVA at heart.
During her youth, Dwella's family grew vegetables in a multi acre garden. Weekly, they took care of the plants, and harvested the vegetables. At 6am in the morning, Dwella could be seen wearing earrings at the garden while picking okra, planting squash and weeding butter beans. LOL!
Her father would often ask her with a grin, 'Baby girl, where do you think that you are going all dressed up?' Dwella would answer with all certainty as an inquisitive 8 year old, 'I am not sure who I might meet out there today. I just want to look presentable, Pop.'
Dwella has always loved wearing beautiful accessories, and she loves creating fashionable looks that are nontraditional as well as classic. One might say that wearing jewelry for Dwella is just like brushing her teeth in the morning...a necessary step to prepare for her day.
Dwella loves all things 'Shiny and Blinged'! (Yes, that does include her many pageant crowns. LOL!)
